Daniel Bennette
Mr. Bennette earned the M.S. in business administration from Boston University
and holds two B.S. degrees from the University of Maryland University College
(UMUC), in computer science and business & management. Mr. Bennette has been
with UMUC in various capacities since 1972, including as an Academic Advisor,
Assistant Program Head for Computer Studies, Information Technology Training Manager,
Faculty Computer Support, Assistant Director for Distance Education Technologies, Assistant Director for Faculty & Staff Development,PeopleSoft Analyst and PeopleSoft Coordinator
. He was appointed to his present position as PeopleSoft Scheduling Manager in March of 2008. He has been instrumental in providing the technical expertise
to foster the growth and acceptance of the UMUC proprietary Distance Education
delivery system (WebTycho) within the UMUC-Europe domain and an invaluable team member in the integration of PeopleSoft within UMUC-Europe. Mr. Bennette has taught
computer classes since 1985 and continuously taught DE classes since 1995. He is a Collegiate Associate Professor and serves on many UMUC-Europe committees.
Previously, he served as project manager and instructor with the Army Continuing
Education System-funded Computer Based Instruction Project awarded to the University
of Maryland University College in the early 1980s. He has taught a variety of
computer applications and information systems courses throughout the European
theater, including seminars designed to assist U.S. Army Education Center personnel
in utilizing their computer hardware and software (Education Center Management
Information System - ECMIS). Mr. Bennette designed and authored training pamphlets
which were used in the ACES ECMIS training program and has written a book entitled "PC
Security and Viruses" (Addison-Wesley GmbH, 1993), which was previously used for
the University of Maryland University College CAPP 100J seminar. Mr. Bennette has written numerous articles, done copy-editing and proofed/reviewed many manuscripts for a variety of publishers.
