Not-Quite-So-Brief Instructions

It really is very simple. All you have to do is click here and you will proceed to the chat room, where you will be able to chat.

What To Do If You're Having Problems

If you got to this section, then I am sure you have already tried chatting, but have failed miserably. So far, all of the chatting problems I have encountered with this page have been because the user (in this case you) had a Java-capable browser, but did not have the Java option enabled. You need to have a "Java-enabled" browser to chat. Most modern browsers support Java, and it is a simple matter of checking a box to activate it.

On the other hand, you may have encountered an all new problem. If so, e-mail me (LP), and we can figure out what to do.

On the third hand, there may be no problem at all except that your browser does not support Java. That would be a shame, because I can do nothing about that except tell you that it is time to upgrade. You can download Netscape Communicator or Microsoft Internet Explorer for free. Then come back and try again!

I have listed below the steps to take to activate Java on many popular browsers. If yours is not listed, figure out how to fix it and let me know so that I can tell everybody else.

Netscape Communicator/Navigator 4.x for Windows 95
  1. Click "Edit" on the menu bar.
  2. Click "Preferences".
  3. Under "Category," click "Advanced".
  4. Put a check mark in the "Enable Java" box.
  5. Click "OK". That's it!

Netscape Navigator 3.x for Windows 95
  1. Click "Options" on the menu bar.
  2. Click "Network Preferences".
  3. Click the "Languages" tab.
  4. Put a check mark in the "Enable Java" box.
  5. Click "OK". That's it! Really!

Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x for Windows 95
  1. Click "View" on the menu bar.
  2. Click "Options".
  3. Click the "Security" tab.
  4. Put a check mark in the "Enable Java programs" box.
  5. Click "OK". That's it! Amazing...
