I  think you will be really enjoying this course! There’s a lot of meat to it regarding organizations and how people in them work, play--and fight? You’ll be seeing that this course will be a great mainstay to you  concerning any future work of yours in either government or private organizational work. Whether you work in public adminstration, economics, management or  any type of management of information systems, you’ll be finding out that Organizational Behavior is a fine tool for understanding what makes organizations--and the people in them--go click!

And if this is the first time that you’re taking a Distance Education course, then don’t worry. Instead, look forward to a rewarding and intellectually challenging experience!

Although I also  teach face-to-face courses, I find teaching in the distance education program of the University of Maryland and its cooperative program with Bowie State University to be particularly challenging! Each seminar I conduct can involve students from practically anywhere in the world. My students have been in Europe, Iceland, the Near East, Asia, Africa, the continental USA, Hawaii, Guam, and South America--and in the case of some students, even underwater: I once had a student who was doing military service on a submarine! In spite of such varied and distant locations, however, my students know: I am only as far away from them as their computer keyoards.

So, let me say now: welcome to the course! There’s a lot to learn, and we should be having fun doing it too!
