Y o u r R e s p o n s i b i l i t i e s To preclude any misunderstandings concerning the standards of these courses, I would like to be assured of your understanding of the following conditions. Workload: The amount of work to be performed outside of the classroom is determined by policy not by the level of the course. University guidelines dictate that "...for every classroom contact-hour, two to three hours worth of work should be assigned to be completed outside of the classroom." This translates to twelve to eighteen hours worth of 'homework.' This is an average figure for the average student. Some of you may require more time to complete the requirements of this course, some of you may require less time to complete the assignments. Language: These being interactive classes requiring your participation, a small parameter must be set in expressing ourselves. I realize some people are capable of using the "F-word" as a noun, adjective, or verb...but please not in this class. Assignments must be typed and edited. 20% of the grade for assignments written outside of class is attributed to the quality of the writing. Because the due dates for all assignments are listed in the 'Schedule of Activities' contained in the syllabus, assignments are due at the beginning of the class on the assigned date. Assignments turned in on the following class session will have a 10% reduction on the grade. Assignments turned in on the second class session following the due date will have a 20% reduction on the grade. Assignments not received by the beginning of the second class session following the assignment due date will not be accepted. (Got it??) "Thankyou's" will be given periodically to thank you for performing the requirements of the class. Thankyou's will be conducted only during the first fifteen minutes of the class and cannot be made up. You may use any notes that you have 'made' on these thankyou's. You may not photocopy anything (text or other people's notes) for these thankyou's. (Am I clear here?) Attendance: You may come and go as you please in class. You will only be in class when you want. (..."if you marry for money, then act like you're in love." XOXO) Finally: Only one person at a time will speak in class. I have read and understand the above conditions and . . . |
