Korper, Steffano & Juanita Ellis. The E-Commerce Book: Building the E-Empire, First Edition, Academic Press (2000). ISBN: 0-12-421160-7
This is the first edition, not the second, of the Korper & Ellis book. User comments reflect that it has wrapped a great deal of content into a very small and readable package. But how good it is for you depends on what you "bring to the party". If you have strong business and technology skills, then you will gain more from the text directly.
Korper, Steffano & Juanita Ellis. The E-Commerce Book: Building the E-Empire, 2nd Ed., Academic Press (2001). ISBN: 0-12-421161-5
This work is a good improvement on the first edition.

Plant, Robert T. eCommerce: Formulation of Strategy, Prentice-Hall (2000). ISBN: 0-13-019844-7
This book is one of the excellent Financial Times series on business and management. There are many case studies in the text to help you develop your sense of what makes a successful e-commerce venture. You may use Plant's book as one, but not the only, source for information on companies we will study in this course. That is, I want you to use the UMUC database to complement and supplement any company information presented in your text.

Some reports say this is the only book you will ever need to understand E-Commerce. While that comment is surely not correct for the serious student, I definitely agree that the authors have put together an enjoyable and reasonably comprehensive review and analysis of this rapidly changing business sector.
